Melissa Berman Moderates UNGA Panel Event on Philanthropy as a Partner in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

During the 2016 United Nations General Assembly and the one year anniversary of the implementation phase of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), philanthropy leaders and partners convened for a panel discussion event on the philanthropic sector’s role in achieving the SDGs. Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors President and CEO Melissa Berman acted as a moderator for the discussion, offering her expertise to emphasize how philanthropy can act as a key partner in SDG implementation.

Joining her on the panel were philanthropic experts and thought leaders including H.E. Princess Lamia Al Saud, Secretary‐General of Alwaleed Philanthropies; Magdy Martínez‐Solimán, Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Bureau for Policy and Programming Support, UNDP; Peter Laugharn, President of Conrad N. Hilton Foundation; and H.E. Mr. David Donoghue, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Nations.
