Lily PapakhianGlobal Philanthropy Fellow
Lily works on RPA’s thought leadership efforts including The Theory of the Foundation initiative and knowledge development around time-bound philanthropy. She also works with a range of family foundations and individuals to develop and implement strategies and realize their philanthropic goals.
Prior to joining RPA, Lily was the Grants Manager for The Atlantic Philanthropies overseeing $400 million annually in domestic and international grantmaking and $3 million annually in employee giving. She conducted extensive analysis and reporting of grant data to highlight trends and inform grantmaking strategy. She also worked at New York University’s Office of the Dean for Science as a Grants Administrator and at Columbia University as a Project Analyst.
She currently serves as a volunteer outreach ambassador for the Armenian Relief Society, where she helps organize events for youth programs and raises funds for the Armenian Syrian Relief Fund. A proud native of Detroit, Ms. Papakhian earned a B.A. in history and classical civilization from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University. Lily’s proudest moment was meeting her lifelong idol Stevie Wonder backstage after a Songs in the Key of Life concert.
