Tina Joh

Principal

Tina works with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ advisory team to provide thorough and practical strategy and consulting services to families, foundations and corporations. As a certified philanthropic advisor, she imparts guidance and advice that fosters thoughtful giving and meaningful philanthropic experiences, facilitates meetings with families, couples and individuals, assesses community needs and funding opportunities through ongoing communications with nonprofits, and aligns donors’ interests and strategic initiatives with the work of nonprofits, while prioritizing the goal of donor fulfillment in their giving.

Prior to joining Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Tina was a senior philanthropic advisor at the Marin Community Foundation, one of the largest community foundations in the country, where she led a client portfolio of high net worth clients with combined assets of $147 million, all with diverse needs, interests and values. She also provided strategy and evaluation consulting to foundation clients with Blueprint Research + Design. Tina began her career over 20 years ago in Minnesota with the Women’s Funding Network and the Minnesota Council on Foundations and has lived in the Bay Area since the early 2000s.

Tina holds a BA from Indiana University and an MA from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. When not working, Tina enjoys delicious meals cooked by her husband and is constantly fielding requests for boba tea and electronic devices from her two young boys.
