Training and Field Building
We train trustees, philanthropic leaders, teams, and individuals on the possibilities created by impact investing along with a diverse set of approaches. We do this through our thought leadership, which includes two primer guides as well as the seminal practitioner’s handbook, as well as our tailored advisory practice.
We guide mission-integration strategy across asset classes and approaches, we facilitate internal conversations to build consensus, and we create plans to operationalize resulting strategies. Beginning with your motivations, we help you discover where you land on the full spectrum of impact investing opportunities then help you shift or build your portfolio to reflect your personal values or organizational mission. We help you develop your theory of change and investment criteria along with your resulting evaluation framework.
For charitable investments (e.g., program related investments), we provide detailed guidance on investment sourcing, due diligence, selection, documentation, legal review, monitoring, and exit. For non-charitable investments, we work in partnership with a client’s existing investment management to identify and implement mission-driven strategies and targets.
