Valerie Rockefeller

A middle‑school Social Studies and Special Education teacher by training, Valerie was born into the fifth generation of the Rockefeller family. She served as Chair of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and holds various trusteeships including Achievement First, the Gilder Lehrman Institute for American History, Columbia University Teachers College, and the Trust for Mutual Understanding. She holds an M.Ed. from Bank Street College and a MAT from Columbia Teachers College after earning her BA at Stanford.
