During the 2016 United Nations General Assembly and the one year anniversary of the implementation phase of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), philanthropy leaders and partners convened for a panel discussion event on the philanthropic sector’s role in achieving the SDGs. Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors President and CEO Melissa Berman acted as a moderator for the discussion, offering her expertise to emphasize how philanthropy can act as a key partner in SDG implementation.
Joining her on the panel were philanthropic experts and thought leaders including H.E. Princess Lamia Al Saud, Secretary‐General of Alwaleed Philanthropies; Magdy Martínez‐Solimán, Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Bureau for Policy and Programming Support, UNDP; Peter Laugharn, President of Conrad N. Hilton Foundation; and H.E. Mr. David Donoghue, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Nations.Back to News
