Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Elects Two New Members to Its Board of Directors
January 23, 2019New Board Members Ana Marie Argilagos and Anand Babu Bring Expertise in Next Generation Philanthropy, Technology, Social Entrepreneurship and Diverse Donor Communities.
Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), one of the world’s leading nonprofit philanthropic consulting services, has elected two new members to its Board of Directors: Ana Marie Argilagos, President & CEO of Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP), and Anand Babu, Director of New Projects at Google AI.
“Ana Marie and Anand are experts at strengthening diverse communities through technology and cross-sector collaboration,” said Melissa Berman, President & CEO of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to leverage this knowledge to help guide other donors and further advance our mission of creating thoughtful, effective philanthropy around the world.”
- Ana Marie Argilagos is President & CEO of Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP), a network of foundations and philanthropists partnering to increase impactful investments across the Americas in an effort to increase power and influence of Latino communities. Previously to HIP she worked as a senior advisor at the Ford Foundation, where she focused on urban development strategies to reduce poverty, expand economic opportunity and advance sustainability in cities and regions across the world. Before Ford, she served as deputy chief of staff and deputy assistant secretary at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). While there, she created the Office for International and Philanthropic Innovation (IPI) to deepen and scale collaboration between public and philanthropic sectors.
- Anand Babu leads Kernel, Google AI’s venture studio that applies cutting-edge research to create world-positive products and businesses. Anand also co-founded Sidewalk Labs, the urban innovation arm of Alphabet builds next-generation cities. He served as COO, leading its venture studio and incubating multiple companies including Coord Mobility, Cityblock Health and Replica. Prior to Google, Anand was a Director at Opower, a startup using real-time analytics to help utility customers save energy. Previously, Anand led venture investments at Crosslink Capital focused on cloud infrastructure, solar energy and materials.
