Margaret Elam

Senior Associate

Margaret Elam joined Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ Sponsored Projects and Funds team as a Senior Associate in October 2022. She directly supports the senior leadership on the SP&F team and lends her time across practice areas as needed.

Before coming to RPA, Margaret worked as a contractor for the Tory Burch Foundation’s Programs team. Other previous experience includes her work on a range of applied research projects focused on women’s entrepreneurship, impact investing, and program evaluation. While working with the Bipartisan Policy Center, Margaret completed her Master’s thesis on Unemployment Insurance Administration design and program improvement recommendations. Margaret still actively participates in public policy forecasting through the University of Maryland.

Margaret earned her Masters of Public Affairs from Brown University’s Watson Institute and her Bachelors in English Literature and Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder. During her undergraduate education she co-founded the CU Bee Club which focused on pollinator conservation and education. She remains an avid outdoorswoman and reader.
