Meet Mitch and Jon
Mitch Singer, a director in RPA’s Los Angeles office, and Jon Quinn, a philanthropic advisor in the Chicago office, have been exploring the role of philanthropy in building movements, using the successes of the LGBTQ movement as a starting point. This work reflects the interests of RPA staff across the organization, as well as RPA’s core values, particularly its focus on diversity.
In addition to leading a group of RPA staffers in researching and conducting internal learning sessions about movement-building, Mitch moderated a conversation about “The Future of LGBTQ Philanthropy: What’s Next?,” hosted by Southern California Grantmakers and featuring leaders in philanthropy and the LGTQ movement. Jon led a similar conversation in Chicago, hosted by Forefront, on ways to continue to promote equity and human rights. And the two co-authored a thoughtful article that appeared on SSIR online: How Individual Donors Can Help Build Movements.
